In order to make learning purposeful, we at D.A.V. Gill Nagar make education a life orienting process. The pedagogy is such that it motivates students to think beyond class room situations. The fundamentals are laid strong in the formative years which makes learning a smooth sailing process in the years ahead. The curiosity to learn is kindled in the minds of our students. The school grooms them with a perfect blend of academics, sports, art and spirituality, which helps them come out as rounded individuals.
CURRICULUM:
A uniform syllabus and assessment techniques are followed across the D.A.V. group of schools. English, Mathematics and Environmental Studies are the core subjects. Tamil is the Second Language in all the Classes from I to V. Hindi is the Third Language. Our fun-filled and interactive classes make learning an enjoyable experience for children. Teachers enable students to shed their inhibitions and ensure their maximum participation during class hours. To keep our students abreast with the emerging trends in technology, a specially designed content is developed in Computer Science and is taught to students from class III. In order to instil ethics and moral values in the young minds, a specially designed content – “Fostering Vedic Values” is introduced to students right from class I. Children are encouraged to participate in various interschool competitions under different categories in sports, sloka, arts and other co-curricular activities.
ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES:
In order to feed the imaginative minds and improve language skills among students, theatre classes are conducted from class I. Life Experiential Learning classes are conducted where students are guided to do experiments and activities that are relevant in real life situations. These classes are not only enjoyed by the kids but are also helpful in bringing out their hidden talents. With these diverse enrichment activities, we ensure boosting the creative ability in each child and cherish the moments as they blossom together.
